Overview |
iPartition is a disk-partitioning utility for Mac OS X with the ability to resize existing Mac OS Extended (HFS+) partitions whilst keeping files intact. It also features unique, Intelligent Partitioning technology that frees the user from tedious reorganisation of the disk and instead chooses the most efficient rearrangement to minimise disk access while respecting the user's requests for partition sizes.
The table below shows the filesystems currently supported by this version of iPartition. iPartition can create, but not format, a large number of other types of partition. It will also allow you to resize almost any type of partition, although doing so will not resize the partition's contents. In particular, if you shrink a partition that does not contain a Mac OS Extended filesystem, you may lose access to any data that was stored on that partition.

Future releases are likely to add support for MS-DOS and Linux Ext2FS as well as support for volumes run under Apple RAID.
